Design isn’t just what you do, it’s what you don’t do.

A design can be minimal, but not bare. It doesn’t have to lack beauty or style. A design can reduce clutter and unnecessary items, but still evoke beauty in its form, design, color scheme, touch…

Minimal design is a design that puts function before anything else. When creating minimal designs elements are removed until they are just the purest forms possible. It’s design at its most essential level.

To design space means to design life. A person’s environment has a profound effect on their moods and thoughts, so it is important to design your space with function in mind, but also with how you live in mind. Minimal design is not something to frown upon, it is design taken to the next level.

When designing space, design with an empty canvas in mind. What will you fill your life with? What will you choose not to surround yourself with; what will be left behind? Consider all of these things before taking on any design projects.

Design can change your life, but design can also change the world.

Art design has been around as long as people have been making things. In recent times, design has become a much sought-after profession and enjoys a high level of respect from art critics, design companies and brands who spend big money to ensure their product looks good. But what exactly is design? How does design affect our lives on an everyday basis? And can design improve business?

One of the earliest design professions is architecture. For thousands of years, humans have been cutting down trees to build structures for shelter. Nails and other types of modern fasteners did not exist back then, so design was based on the shape of natural materials available at that time. However, design was also influenced by a person’s culture and religion. For example, design in ancient Egypt was based on the shape of the pyramids, which represented mountains where Pharaohs believed they would ascend to heaven after death. In ancient Greece design was very linear as it followed the style of columns used for their temples.

Design challenges began to change as society evolved. For example, design was not just limited to housing design, but also design of chairs and other furniture for the home, design of clothing to protect human skin from harsh weather conditions (e.g., light clothes in summer time), design of vehicles like bicycles or boats for traveling purposes, design of insect repellent to prevent illness etc.

Eventually design moved from a tangible object to design of intangible things. For example, design is no longer limited to the shape and color of a chair, but now involves design of behavior – design can now be used to make someone feel bad or good about themselves. Design now involves graphical user interface design for computer software, as well as development of web design for websites. Design can also be used as a means of persuasion, such as design of propaganda posters to encourage people to fight in wars or design of posters and advertisements to sell certain products.

Today design is so commonplace that design professionals are required to design everything from buildings and computers to forks and spoons. Now more than ever design is a sought-after profession and design companies and design schools are popping up all over the world. What exactly is design and how does design affect our lives?

Design helps to make objects, experiences and behavior more attractive, appealing, easier to use or persuading. Design can also help solve problems like poor safety regulations in factories, design can help to prevent accidents. Design can also help businesses innovate and design can also be used as a competitive advantage so that design-savvy companies may be able to outmaneuver their competitors.

One such company which understands the importance of design is Apple Inc.. For example, design was integral in its development of the iPod and design is integral in its development of the iPhone, both of which have created a whole new design language in the mobile device market.

In conclusion design helps to make objects, experiences and behavior more attractive, appealing or easier to use. Design can also help solve problems. In a way, design improves human life.
