Cook time: 45 min

If you’re looking for a unique Thanksgiving recipe this year, why not try a pumpkin pie with a Moroccan twist? This recipe is perfect for beginners, and can be easily made with ingredients you probably already have in your pantry.

The ingredients you’ll need are:

  • 1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cup semolina flour
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup chopped dates

The steps to making this delicious pumpkin pie are simple.

  1. First, preheat your oven to 425 degrees F.
  2. Then, in a large bowl, mix together the pumpkin puree, sugar, ginger, cloves, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and evaporated milk.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, and mix until everything is well combined.
  5. Next, stir in the semolina flour, raisins, and chopped dates.
  6. Pour the mixture into an unbaked 9-inch pie crust, and bake for 15 minutes.
  7. Reduce the oven temperature to 350 degrees F, and continue baking the pie for 45 minutes, or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the pie to cool for at least an hour before serving. This will give the semolina flour time to absorb some of the moisture and thicken the pie.
  9. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream, and enjoy!
