Cook time: 45 min
If you’re looking for a unique Thanksgiving recipe this year, why not try a pumpkin pie with a Moroccan twist? This recipe is perfect for beginners, and can be easily made with ingredients you probably already have in your pantry.
The ingredients you’ll need are:
- 1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin puree
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk
- 1/2 cup semolina flour
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup chopped dates
The steps to making this delicious pumpkin pie are simple.
- First, preheat your oven to 425 degrees F.
- Then, in a large bowl, mix together the pumpkin puree, sugar, ginger, cloves, cinnamon, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and evaporated milk.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, and mix until everything is well combined.
- Next, stir in the semolina flour, raisins, and chopped dates.
- Pour the mixture into an unbaked 9-inch pie crust, and bake for 15 minutes.
- Reduce the oven temperature to 350 degrees F, and continue baking the pie for 45 minutes, or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the pie to cool for at least an hour before serving. This will give the semolina flour time to absorb some of the moisture and thicken the pie.
- Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream, and enjoy!
